Find a bin

  1. Build a Bin – Building a bin doesn’t have to be expensive or difficult. There are many compost bin plans out there; some are very simple and some are more involved. Check out these compost bin plans from MUN Botanical Garden.
  2. Buy a Bin – Many local hardware stores and garden centres carry a variety of compost bins.
  3. Is your municipality offering compost bins at a reduce rate? Check out the list below!

Compost Bin Distribution Program

In 2014, through the Compost Bin Distribution Program, MMSB partnered with 13 municipalities from across the province to offer compost bins to residents at a reduced cost. Participating communities hosted free Learn to Compost information sessions.  The program encourages communities to provide residents with the knowledge and tools needed to start composting.

Many towns who participated in the 2014 program have remaining compost bins in stock. If you are a resident of one of the following communities, contact your town for more information.
